I’ve been fortunate to spend a lot of time in Northern California over the past few years. Poppies are everywhere! I love how bright and delicate the petals are. I’ve seen fields of flowers… and poppies growing between cracks in sidewalks. They are overly abundant and add so much joy to the scenery. This painting is a compilation of several reference photos I took while staying at The Silverado Resort in Napa.
